Beware the free iPad3 scam (The Star, 27 January 2012)

PETALING JAYA: The iPad3 fever is heating up, and so are the scams.

Scammers are on overdrive trying to lure unsuspecting eager beavers into parting with personal information for a chance to get a free iPad3.

Symantec Security has issued a warning against an e-mail scam, purportedly from Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, that was taking advantage of the hype surrounding the yet-to-be-released iPad3.

Many have anticipated the release of Apple’s latest gadget to coincide with the late Steve Jobs’ birthday on Feb 24, with some speculating that it may be unveiled sooner.
